JENEsys Edge® 534

Niagara 4 Programmable Logic Controller

The JENEsys Edge 534–N4 is a fully programmable Niagara 4 controller that you can connect up to 8 additional Onyxx® XM 34IO extender modules, adding 34 points of IO each, for a maximum of 306 points. The JENE-EG534-N4 delivers edge connectivity, interoperability, data access and analytics energy management, and machine-to-machine applications and IP environments. Taking Niagara 4 to the edge with real-time control—the JENEsys Edge 534–N4 utilizes the same Niagara ProBuilder/Niagara Workbench software, Niagara 4 programming tools and Fox Protocol. JENEsys Edge products are available to any Niagara certified integrator or contractor.

Applications and Use Cases

The JENEsys Edge 534–N4 licensing is well-suited to take Niagara 4 into price-sensitive applications. Designed to provide maximum performance at minimum cost, the JENEsys Edge 534–N4 utilizes the Fox protocol so that it can easily be used as a standalone controller or integrated into other Niagara 4 solutions. It is perfect for both retrofit and new construction projects, small to mid-sized commercial buildings, and serves a variety of other applications and use cases.

“We chose Lynxspring’s JENEsys Edge® 534 because of its IP and Niagara capabilities and its flexibility to make modifications as needed. The 545 Wyn’s building control system has proven to be a valued solution with respect to managing the building’s operations, equipment performance, and energy management. It has also met the expectations of the building owner as well as the tenants. Lynxspring’s JENEsys Edge controllers and the Niagara Framework have proven themselves dependable and user friendly.”

RMF Accreditation

The entire JENEsys Edge portfolio of controllers are each eligible for accreditation under the federal Risk Management Framework (RMF). RMF is a process used by the U.S. federal government that combines their information security, risk management, and privacy management into a unified set of guidelines they follow for cybersecurity related to operating and managing buildings, facilities, and control systems. By following the RMF, additional measures are strategically implemented to help enhance the cybersecurity of their OT and IT systems against outside or malicious threats and to maintain data privacy.

Satisfies GSA IT Security Testing

The JENEsys Edge 534–N4 enables you to access data from different sources, make it consistent across multiple applications, have more capacity, offer higher levels of data processing and increased storage capabilities, and add a level of command, control, and security. The JENEsys Edge® 534 satisfies all IT Security testing requirements for the General Services Administration (GSA).

Global Capacity Licensing

Built on Niagara 4 and Onyxx® (an extensible platform), the JENEsys Edge 534–N4 runs Niagara 4 on the edge and is compatible with many existing Niagara 4 drivers, including the Niagara 4 Network (Fox), BACnet, Modbus, Web and oBIX. The JENE-EG534-N4 leverages global capacity licensing and runs on a real-time Linux OS with a fast processor and increased memory capacity. The JENEsys Edge 534–N4 also includes a GUI for building your own internal graphics.

Advantages of JENEsys Edge vs. JENEsys PC-8000

JENEsys Edge 534, JENEsys 514 and JENEsys 414 products are platform independent Niagara controllers. They run the full standard Niagara Framework, but the Made in the USA hardware platform. The JENEsys Edge controllers include standard protocol communications such as BACnet®, Modbus, Fox with on-board IO with a much smaller footprint than the JENEsys PC-8000. The JENEsys Edge controllers listed above also offer license options not available to the JENEsys PC-8000. Both employ the same Niagara Framework, but the use cases ten to vary as our JENEsys Edge controllers allow Niagara control to be applied in a wider variety of instances such as equipment control, small building applications and application-specific projects. The JENEsys Edge 534–N4 also has a smaller unit footprint than a JENE/JACE® PC-8000.
