Niagara 4 IP Controller

The JENEsys Edge^® VAV controller is the industry’s first IP-based, variable air volume controller developed and built utilizing the Niagara Framework^®. The device, when combined with other JENEsys Edge devices, further leverages, and interconnects with Lynxspring’s horizontal, Niagara IP architecture and topology. Built on Lynxspring’s extensible Onyxx^® IP hardware platform, Helixx^® operating system and Niagara 4 with a 50 point 3-device license, the JENEsys Edge VAV enables users to utilize Niagara ProBuilder/Workbench software, Niagara programming tools, and the Fox Protocol for easy setup, programming, commissioning, and control. The JENEsys Edge VAV controller has been strategically designed to provide a dynamic solution that reduces deployment time, lowers installation costs, is simple to manage, and is easy to update using Onyxx tools and Niagara. The feature set includes a robust set of ready-to-use sequences based on the latest ASHRAE Guideline 36 (G36), enhanced high-definition graphics, and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) communication. The JENEsys Edge VAV controller comes fully loaded with the required tools for installers, technicians, and service maintenance personnel including balancing, continuous commissioning, single-point configuration, addressing, and high-definition graphical user interfaces.

RMF Accreditation

The entire JENEsys Edge portfolio of controllers are each eligible for accreditation under the federal Risk Management Framework (RMF). RMF is a process used by the U.S. federal government that combines their information security, risk management, and privacy management into a unified set of guidelines they follow for cybersecurity related to operating and managing buildings, facilities, and control systems. By following the RMF, additional measures are strategically implemented to help enhance the cybersecurity of their OT and IT systems against outside or malicious threats and to maintain data privacy.

Business Use Cases the JENEsys Edge VAV Resolves

The JENEsys Edge VAV device is best used in situations with an air distribution system using VAV Boxes, where it is important to make it consistent across multiple air supply services. It offers higher levels of data processing, increased storage capabilities, and adds a level of command and control. The JENEsys Edge VAV licensing is well-suited to take Niagara 4 into smaller or mid-sized and price sensitive VAV applications.

JENEsys Edge VAV vs. the JENEsys Edge 534

The JENEsys Edge VAV controller has the same general capabilities, same processor, and memory as the JENEsys Edge 534 controller, but with fewer built-in IOs (15 vs. 34) and a smaller form factor. The JENEsys Edge 534 offers multiple license capacities while the JENEsys Edge VAV is limited to 50 points and 3 devices and cannot be upgraded.

JENEsys Edge VAV vs. JENEsys Edge 414

The JENEsys Edge VAV controller has the same general capabilities, same processor, and memory as the JENEsys Edge 414 controller, including the same form factor. In addition to the built-in IOs (14), the JENEsys Edge VAV controller also has pickup tube connections for reading VAV duct velocity pressure.
